Miles arrived at Camille’s office pale, exhausted, and visibly shaken.

Assistants greeted Camille with immediate respect.
Executives waited outside her conference room for approval.

“Camille…” he said slowly. “You own Kensington Capital?”

She looked at him calmly across the conference table.

“Yes.”

The silence between them became unbearable.

Miles tried explaining himself. He said things had moved too fast. He insisted he loved her. He claimed his mother had gone too far.

But Camille no longer heard sincerity.

Only regret.

“You were comfortable with my silence,” she told him quietly. “Until you realized how much power was behind it.”

Hours later, Beatrice Sterling stormed into the office demanding answers.

For the first time in her life, she looked uncertain.

“What exactly are you trying to prove?” she snapped.

Camille didn’t raise her voice.

She simply handed Beatrice the engagement ring.

“This was never revenge,” Camille said calmly. “This was clarity.”

Beatrice stared at the ring without speaking.

Camille walked them both to the door herself.
