Meet Marco Antonio Aguayo. Heβs 22 years old. He lives in Anaheim, California.
And according to federal prosecutors, heβs the kind of deranged individual who thinks itβs acceptable to threaten the Vice President of the United States and his family.
A criminal complaint filed Wednesday alleges that Aguayo posted on social media claiming pipe bombs had been planted around Disneyland ahead of Vice President JD Vanceβs visit with his family during a private vacation to California last summer.
The threat was bogusβbut the intent was not. Aguayo is accused of also posting this chilling message: βGood luck finding all of them on time there will be bloodshed tonight and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians.β Allegations are that these threats were posted on the Disneyland Instagram account.
Here are the three threateningΒ messagesΒ allegedly posted by Aguayo:
βPipe bombs have been placed in preparation for J.D. Vanceβs arrival,β the first comment read.
βItβs time for us to rise up and you will be a witness to it,β read the second.
βGood luck finding all of them on time there will be bloodshed tonight and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians,β read the third.
Local law enforcement, along with an agent from the U.S. Secret Service, paid Aguayo a visit on July 12, 2025, to question him about the posts. At first, he denied everythingβreaching for the tired, unconvincing excuse that his account had been βhacked.β
That story didnβt last. Aguayo ultimately admitted he made the posts himself, claiming only that he forgot to delete them before anyone noticed.
Maybe that excuse might sound marginally plausible if this had been a single lapse in judgment. But it wasnβt. It was three separate posts. Thatβs not an accident. Thatβs intent. βHe claimed that he intended it merely as a joke to provoke attention and laughter,β the criminal complaint says. βAGUAYO stated he contemplated deleting the post but ultimately forgot to do so.β
The complaint outlines how the Secret Service agent, who was investigating threats against the Vance family, successfully tracked down Marco Antonio Aguayo. The agent linked an email address to the Instagram account that posted the disturbing comments on the Disneyland page. By utilizing Google subscriber records, the agent was able to identify Aguayo, along with two associated phone numbers. After consenting to a search of his phone, the evidence gathered ultimately led to the charges against him.
As a result, Marco Antonio Aguayo now faces a federal charge for making threats against the president and those in the presidential line of succession. The complaint added:
For all the reasons described above, there is probable cause to believe that AGUAYO violated 18 U.S.C. Β§ 871 (Threat against President and Successors to the Presidency).
Justβ¦stupid. Dumb. It is beyond comprehension that a young person would be so willing to give up years of their freedom and whatever kind of good future they would have had over something so preventable. But it sure sounds like this young man is headed for prison after being radicalize, quite possibly by Democrats. Time will tell.
