On December 9, 2023, a tornado tore the roof off a mobile home in Clarksville, Tennessee, and carried four-month-old Lord — still in his bassinet — into the sky.
His father lunged to grab him and was swept up into the twister too. Both of them were hurled through the air and thrown into the woods.
Ten minutes later, with the rain still pouring and the family’s home reduced to rubble, they found the baby alive — nestled gently at the base of a tree, as if someone had placed him there. The bassinet was wrapped around the trunk above him.
His father had a broken collarbone. Lord had a cut on his face. The family lost every possession they had. But all four of them walked away.
The mother said it best: “By the grace of God, they survived.”
And the baby’s name — Lord — has left a lot of people at a loss for words.
