King Charles’ Funeral Plans Are Being Updated Amid His Battle With Cancer

As King Charles continues to receive treatment for cancer, royal sources are claiming that preparations are being made in case the worst-case scenario happens. According to the latest intel from insiders, Charles’ funeral plans are being updated because, reportedly, his condition is much worse than the palace is letting the public believe it is. In fact, the situation is plainly being described as “not good.”

Charles’ cancer diagnosis was revealed earlier this year.

The king’s diagnosis was shared in a statement from Buckingham Palace in early February.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” read the statement, which was shared on the royal family’s social media accounts.

He’s been undergoing “regular treatments,” and though he does occasionally make public appearances, most of the time, he’s laying low.

Those in the know are saying ‘it’s not good.’

Someone claiming to be an “old friend of the family” told The Daily Beast that the king’s condition is worse than he’s letting on.

“Of course he is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it. Everyone is staying optimistic, but he is really very unwell. More than they are letting on,” the insider said.

Charles’ funeral plans are reportedly being updated.

According to the source, behind the scenes, Operation Menai Bridge — the name for the king’s funeral plans — is at the forefront of royal officials’ minds.

“The plans have been dusted off and are actively being kept up to date. It’s no more than what you would expect given the king has been diagnosed with cancer. But the circulation of them has certainly focused minds,” the insider said.

They are ‘looking at every aspect’ of the funeral plan right now.

It sounds like those in charge of the funeral are hoping things will go as smoothly as they did for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022.

“The queen’s funeral went like clockwork and set a high bar,” the person said. “It’s not an emotional thing, it’s a job, one taken very seriously, and understandably no-one plans to get caught out.”

The palace announced that Charles is well enough to return to public duties.

“His Majesty The King will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis,” read a statement shared by the palace on Friday.

The statement continued, “To help mark this milestone, The King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients. This visit will be the first in a number of external engagements His Majesty will undertake in the weeks ahead.”

Hopefully, this is a sign that he truly is feeling better.
