There is no doubt that Democrats have nearly destroyed the once-great Golden State of California. Their insane anti-development policies, focus on extreme left-wing social issues like transgenderism and wokeness, and turning a blind eye to crime have all been disastrous, but for some reason, voters there continue to leave them in control.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta is primarily known for his numerous gender-related cases and efforts to take action against President Trump. However, he is less recognized for addressing corruption within state government or tackling the widespread healthcare fraud.
On Thursday, Bonta celebrated his recent achievement of uncovering some corruption and announced that he would be prosecuting 11 individuals involved:
The top state prosecutor says investigators caught 14 fraudulent hospice companies who had billed MediCal and Medicaid for $267 million in non-existent services after they received a tip from the California Department of Healthcare Services.
“This was a brazen, calculated criminal scheme that exploited the medical system, stole from the state of California and Medicaid and prevented services and care from going to sick individuals who actually need it,” Bonta said of the crime.
Bonta’s office filed felony criminal charges against 21 suspects for the healthcare fraud crimes.
Now, Bonta, if only you could find out where the $24 billion allotted to ‘fight homelessness’ actually went, that’d be very helpful to your taxpayers.
“Trump is late to the party”? Really? He’s not been president for decades, goofball, and if you’ve been fighting and prosecuting fraud “for decades,” please point to those cases. Because none of that was happening before President Trump turned Vice President JD Vance into the “fraud czar” and he began to uncover it. Oh, and ditto for indy journalist Nick Shirley.
Bonta wasn’t done being outrageous:
“This is just the latest example of the California DOJ’s long standing ongoing and successful efforts [against] hospice and MediCal fraud. We have been doing this work for years. We’ve been doing it successfully before certain people in this country decided to think about it for the first time,” he said.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, is not impressed by Attorney General Bonta’s rhetoric. The two have engaged in a recent social media exchange. Essayli criticized California for its failure to combat fraud, prompting a response from Bonta. However, Essayli delivered a strong rebuttal, effectively finishing the argument.
“Maybe you should spend more time prosecuting your own fraudsters and filling up your prisons, and less time cooking up political lawsuits against the Trump Administration,” Essayli noted on X.
