Trump Gets Historic Support From Voting Base: Report

Several new surveys are showing that President Donald Trump’s approval rating within the Republican Party is higher than any other president in U.S. history, according to a weekend report. “Republicans love Donald Trump more than any president’s own party’s supporters loved him at this particular point,” CNN’s Harry Enten told viewers Wednesday night.

A recent poll indicates that, at this point in his second term, Donald Trump’s approval rating among GOP members is an impressive 86%. In comparison, former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush had approval ratings of 77% during their second terms. Additionally, Trump’s strong approval rating within his own party is at 53%, which is higher than Obama’s 48% and Bush’s 47%.

The approval comes even though other polls show that a majority of respondents disapprove of Trump’s strike on Iran.

A Fox News poll released in late January found strong approval for President Donald Trump among Republican voters, with 85% expressing approval overall and 97% among respondents identifying as supporters of the “Make America Great Again” movement.

Among all registered voters surveyed, Trump’s job approval rating was 44%, while 56% disapproved, unchanged from the previous month, according to the poll. The results place Trump’s approval at a level comparable to former President George W. Bush at a similar point in his second term and two points higher than former President Barack Obama at the same stage of his presidency.

Administration officials and supporters have pointed to several policy initiatives as factors contributing to continued support among Republican voters.

On immigration, the White House has highlighted stricter border enforcement measures that officials say have reduced unlawful crossings and altered migration patterns at the southern border. Administration figures have described the changes as producing historically low border crossings.

Trump also signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, legislation that extended provisions of the 2017 tax cuts and included tax changes affecting tips, overtime income and certain Social Security benefits, according to administration statements.

Energy policy has been another focus of the administration’s agenda. Officials say expanded domestic drilling and regulatory changes have contributed to higher U.S. energy production and increased exports.

The administration has also emphasized immigration enforcement policies aimed at influencing labor market trends, along with broader efforts to reduce federal spending and streamline government operations.

White House officials say those initiatives are part of a broader strategy to encourage domestic investment, expand manufacturing and support economic growth in the United States.

On Iran, Trump said Friday that the United States will not reach an agreement with whoever is chosen to lead the country unless they accept what he called “unconditional surrender.” Trump made the statement in a post on Truth Social.

“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump wrote, Newsmax reported. The president also suggested that a future Iranian government could receive economic assistance from the United States and its allies after accepting those terms.

“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” Trump wrote.

Trump also expressed optimism about Iran’s long-term future. “IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE,” Trump wrote. The president concluded the message with a slogan modeled on his well-known campaign motto. “MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!),” Trump wrote.

Some new weapons have been deployed during the conflict.

A US Navy destroyer stationed off the coast of a Middle Eastern nation is equipped with the new High-Energy Laser with Integrated Optical Dazzler and Surveillance (HELIOS) system, as shown in videos released by US Central Command.

The state-of-the-art laser device features a steerable head that can concentrate an intense, tightly focused beam of energy to eliminate drones, according to military observers.
