From a Miami Bar to a Hollywood Love Story
In 2003, Matt Damon was in Miami filming the movie Stuck on You when he walked into a bar where Argentine bartender Luciana Barroso was working. Trying to escape a crowd of fans, Damon reportedly ducked behind the bar. Luciana jokingly told him he could stay there only if he helped out — so he ended up washing glasses, wiping counters, and serving drinks alongside her.
The conversation they shared that night sparked a connection that would change both their lives. Damon and Barroso married in 2005, and he later adopted her daughter Alexia. The couple went on to have three more daughters and have largely kept their family life private despite Damon’s Hollywood fame.
