Gavin Newsom’s Claim About the SAVE Act Is Absolutely Bonkers

We really wish California Governor Gavin Newsom would settle on a position and stake it out. One day, he claims we won’t have midterm elections or the presidential elections in 2028 because he views President Trump as a dictator or something like that. The next day, he acts as if he is running for president — which he is — despite his earlier statements about those elections not happening and stuff.

Now, Newsom is unsurprisingly opposing the SAVE America Act, arguing that ensuring only American citizens can vote in federal elections will lead to us “losing this country.”

“What’s the SAVE Act? That’s not about ID, it’s about registration. It’s about who gets to vote, who doesn’t get to vote. They are not screwing around. We will lose this country,” Newsom said.

Yes, he is correct. It is about deciding who gets to vote and who doesn’t. Voting should be limited to citizens; illegal immigrants and other non-citizens should not participate in our elections. The Democrats desire and rely on them.

You can decide for yourself the ‘why.’

All of this is true. Democrats know that by using mechanisms like mail-in balloting without an ID a) voter rolls are historically inaccurate and b) ballots also go to illegal aliens who are residing at an address.

The vast majority of Americans want voter ID, and they want it nationally. Republicans in the Senate need to grow a spine and get the SAVE Act passed via a simple majority. We can’t wait on this any longer.
