Latest DHS Arrest In Minnesota Should Cause Democrats To Pause – But It Probably Won’t

As Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey prattle on about the alleged need to shield illegal immigrants from ICE, the Department of Homeland Security has cut through the noise—reminding the public exactly who ICE is arresting in the North Star State: criminal illegal aliens who never should have been here in the first place.

DHS has even circulated a worst-of-the-worst list laying bare the reality local Democrats prefer to ignore — pedophiles, rapists, and other violent predators no sane person would want anywhere near their community. Among them is Sriudorn Phaivan, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of strong-arm sodomy of both a boy and a girl, who has had a standing deportation order since 2018.

And this is not ancient history. In another recent incident, three Venezuelan illegal immigrants allegedly ambushed an ICE agent who was attempting to take one of them into custody — attacking him with a shovel and a broom until the agent was forced to shoot one of the suspects in the leg in self-defense.

Needless to say, if Gov. Walz and Mayor Frey had their way, those worst-of-the-worst criminals would still be roaming Minnesota streets. But DHS isn’t just hauling in hardened offenders — in Minneapolis last Wednesday night federal agents also arrested an agitator at a riot who not only allegedly assaulted immigration enforcement officers but openly admitted he was armed while doing it:

Last night during a riot in Minneapolis, a U.S. citizen was arrested for assaulting officers while carrying a firearm.

The individual showed up to the protest with a gun and a box of ammunition in a bag. The individual threatened violence against law enforcement officers while pointing at his bag.

After law enforcement deployed crowd control measures to calm an increasingly volatile crowd, the individual kicked a metal smoke cannister at officers. He then pushed an officer, and he was arrested for assault. While being arrested he stated he had a firearm, which was located along with a box of ammunition. He was not carrying his concealed carry permit. This is not the peaceful protesting that the First Amendment protects.

The person’s name hasn’t been released yet, and it’s not clear if he is a Minnesota resident.

In addition, there was this:

When you hear about stories like these — and there are plenty of others, from vehicle rammings to attempted ambushes on federal agents — it’s absolutely no surprise that President Trump is reportedly considering invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota to put a stop to the escalating violence and chaos, and possibly on border czar Tom Homan’s recommendation.

As one X user noted: “Democrats are inciting an armed insurrection.”

I think that’s pretty much spot-on at this point and I’d love for someone to prove me wrong.
