He didn’t even have to name him. Former Fox News host Brit Hume absolutely shredded Joe Biden and the foreign-policy wreckage that set the world on fire, delivering a brutal message to global leaders: America was not back—and Biden had no clue what he was doing.
For decades, the Delaware liberal coasted on a carefully cultivated myth that he was some kind of international-relations savant. Years in Washington and a stint chairing the Senate Foreign Relations Committee were supposed to confer wisdom by osmosis. Instead, they provided cover. Strip away the résumé padding and the record is damning: wrong calls, bad instincts, and predictable failures stretching back forty years.
It’s remarkably unimpressive—much like his entire career in public life. Simply hanging around Washington for decades doesn’t magically turn someone into a sage. Longevity isn’t wisdom, and it certainly isn’t competence.
By contrast, Donald Trump’s daring raid in Venezuela marked a sharp change in how American power is projected—and it’s a change for the better. There’s a decisiveness and clarity that had been missing. On January 3, airstrikes shook Caracas as Delta Force moved in and captured Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
The message was unmistakable: America is done with hesitation and half-measures. Here’s how Hume put it:
The Maduro capture, coupled with the air attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, suggest an extraordinary level of skill, technology and daring. Precisely the opposite signal from that sent by the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Biden presided over a foreign-policy dumpster fire. He allowed Iran to lob ballistic missiles at Israel, botched a so-called “humanitarian” pier in Gaza that ended up helping terrorists more than civilians, had no coherent strategy for Ukraine, and—yes—oversaw the catastrophic fall of Kabul. On issue after issue, he was wrong. The White House drifted into cruise control while aides scrambled behind the scenes to keep the façade of competence intact. It didn’t work.
By contrast, Donald Trump acted. He removed a dictator and dismantled a nuclear weapons program. Trump does things to protect Americans. Biden napped at the beach and allowed his staffers to ‘autopen’ his presidency.
