Oklahoma will soon require teachers moving from New York or California to pass a “loyalty test” aimed at filtering out “radical leftist ideology.” State superintendent Ryan Walters announced that conservative group PragerU will administer the exam, which includes questions on the Constitution and U.S. government basics. Walters said the move is meant to keep classrooms free of “liberal indoctrination.”

Critics, including the American Federation of Teachers and Oklahoma Democrats, call it a “MAGA loyalty test” that will worsen the state’s teacher shortage. They argue the policy discourages qualified educators from relocating.

Officials say the test will roll out soon, branding it part of a push for “pro-America” education.
