Left-wing activists are planning a repeat of the “No Kings” protests around the country over the nation’s Independence Day holiday, according to information posted on social media.
“This 4th of July, we’re reclaiming America’s promise,” says a flyer posted to the X platform that contained a number of misspellings, leaving some to question whether it was produced in the U.S. or from some entity outside the country.
But the planned protests are already being panned by critics, many of whom are tired of the far left’s antics.
“What exactly are @NoKingsNoCrowns 2.0 accomplishing? NoKings 1.0 was a flop and a failure. Nobody cared then, nobody cares now. Nothing changed then and nothing will change now. @realDonaldTrump will still be our president and he is farthest from being any king ever. If he was king, you #NoKings wouldn’t be able to protest and riot. What appears to me is that the #NoKings @Stop_Project25 are the Kings. They are the ones who want control and power. So good Luck with 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 10.0. Nothing will ever change. Their hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me,” one user noted.
Various Trump officials have repeatedly warned against using violence during such protests.
Earlier this month, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino gave a chilling warning to rioters in Los Angeles who were pelting federal agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with rocks as they drove past.
The deputy director asked for the public’s assistance in finding them and warned the perpetrators that it was “only a matter of time” until they were captured.
We are currently seeking information regarding the identity of the person(s) throwing rocks at vehicles conducting critical law enforcement operations,” he said in a post on X.
“One of the perpetrators in this video is wearing a helmet, and we’re going to use our investigative tools to locate the individual. I strongly suggest you turn yourself in, it’s only a matter of time,” he said.
FBI Director Kash Patel also shared a direct message with the suspects.
“Hit a cop, you’re going to jail… doesn’t matter where you came from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you. If the local police force won’t back our men and women on the thin blue line, we @FBI will,” he said.
Following their warnings, one suspect believed to be the person chucking rocks at passing ICE vehicles has been identified.
Elpidio Reyna is wanted by the FBI for allegedly hurling rocks and explosives at federal officers and their vehicles. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture. Reyna, who has a prior criminal record, also faces additional charges, including felony burglary and drug-related offenses.
Also, Bill Essayli, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, announced this week that federal charges are being filed against a man caught on video handing out boxes of heavy-duty face shields to rioters during the most violent night of the unrest on June 9, CBS News reported.
