Following the violent attack on peaceful Jewish protesters in California, President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan warned that similar incidents will most likely happen in the near future.
In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Homan discussed the case of the Egyptian national who carried out the attack in Boulder, Colo., over the weekend after he was allowed to remain in the U.S. illegally by overstaying his visa. “Do you not agree that if we don’t find these people soon that we are at risk of another 9/11 or worse?” Hannity asked.
“It’s coming. I mean, why did two million illegal aliens pay more to get away? They could have paid half what they paid, crossed the border, turned themselves in, get released that day, get a free airline ticket to the city of their choice, get a free hotel room, three meals a day, free medical care, and a work authorization,” Homan said.
“Two million people paid more to get away. They didn’t want to be vetted or fingerprinted. Why? Scares the hell out of me. I’ve been doing this for 40 years. It should scare every American. The two million got-aways scare the hell out of me. I’m convinced something is coming unless we can find them,” he said.
“Even through the legal process, the Biden administration was bringing people in unvetted, handing out work visas like they’re candy, while [potential threats] sat here and planned something bad,” he said following reports that Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian national, had overstayed a tourist visa granted in 2022 before obtaining a work visa — which had expired — from the Biden administration in 2023. “We are gonna be dealing with this for the next 10 years, because of the chaos they created in four years.”
