America is more secure this Memorial Day Weekend as Border Patrol officials in the San Diego Sector shut down yet another migrant processing center opened under Joe Biden. The closure marks another victory for the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal crossings in Southern California.

“Due to the unprecedented decrease in illegal crossings this year, the massive 1,000-person San Diego Sector Soft Sided Facility has been dismantled,” a post by the San Diego Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Jeffrey Stalnaker.

Stalnaker reported that agents in the San Diego Sector apprehended just 38 migrants per day in March 2025—a staggering 96.4% drop from the 1,090 daily apprehensions recorded a year earlier. Under the first three full months of the Trump administration, the average held at just 47 per day, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Southwest Land Border Encounters Report.

Breitbart News noted that the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration has also triggered the shutdown of NGO-run migrant shelters near San Diego. Catholic Charities was forced to lay off 73 employees at two facilities that had previously housed migrants released into California under Biden-era policies. Another 115 employees were cut from the San Diego Rapid Response Network as border traffic dried up.

Breitbart Texas’s Randy Clark likewise reported that Biden-era migrant processing centers near Eagle Pass, Laredo, and McAllen, Texas, were torn down after being deemed useless. A source inside Customs and Border Protection told Breitbart the facilities were scrapped after President Donald Trump killed off Biden’s disastrous “catch and release” policies.

The source said the shelters had been burning through taxpayer money at an outrageous $10 million per month, all to temporarily house illegal immigrants who were being dumped into American communities under the previous administration.

A new poll of Epoch Times readers reveals overwhelming support for President Donald Trump’s hardline immigration agenda—including his use of emergency powers to accelerate deportations of foreign gang members, a tactic the Supreme Court has recently attempted to block.

Out of 35,704 responses, a commanding majority of readers backed expedited deportations, opposed due process protections for illegal immigrants, and endorsed Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act to remove non-citizens linked to transnational crime. The results send a clear message: voters want action, not courtroom delays, the outlet reported.
