Donald Trump had four years to plan his return to power and, when he wasn’t jetting back and forth for court appearances in political warfare cases brought by partisan leftist hacks in New York, Georgia, and Biden’s Justice Department, was no doubt making a list of loyalists he would want to serve in a potential next term. Of course, one of those individuals is national security professional Kash Patel, whom Trump named to run — and reform — the highly politicized FBI.
And by all accounts, Patel is doing just that, much to the chagrin of the DC swamp ‘deep state’, whose members are quickly learning that the old way of doing business — leaks to friendly media that may or may not be true aimed at smearing Trump and disrupting his administration — won’t be tolerated any longer. Under a new directive from Patel, the FBI has started using polygraph examinations on government employees suspected of leaking classified or sensitive information intended to harm or embarrass the Trump administration.
First reported on Tuesday, this marks an escalated effort by President Trump to root out leakers, whom he blames for undermining parts of his first term. A Bureau spokesperson confirmed the agency’s use of polygraphs, which assess a subject’s physiological responses to a series of questions. “The seriousness of the specific leaks in question precipitated the polygraphs, as they involved potential damage to security protocols at the bureau,” said the spokesperson, who declined to elaborate.
As part of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s commitment to rigorously review leaks—whether involving raids on undocumented immigrants or other privileged and sensitive communications—the scope of anti-leak operations is being expanded. Bondi pointed out that past disclosures, such as the unfounded claim that Elon Musk was to be briefed on U.S. countermeasures against a potential war with China (a denial later issued by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth), are “designed to sow chaos and distrust” within the government – and, of course, within Trump’s administration.
Naturally, ‘the swamp’ isn’t happy with this because for years they’ve essentially been able to operate with impunity. “People are trying to keep their heads down,” said one former FBI field office head who spoke with the Washington Post on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation — because they were leaking. (The Post is a favorite of the deep state leaking system, by the way.) “Morale’s in the toilet. … When you see people who are being investigated, or names [of agents who worked on Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot cases] being passed over to the DOJ, it’s what the f***?”
Hopefully the names of the undercover agents the FBI put in the crowds that day, some say to agitate and ‘convince’ Trump supporters to break the law, are among the names being sent to Bondi’s department. Meanwhile, the recent wave of resignations around Hegseth has led the embattled Cabinet member to threaten polygraph examinations for his remaining senior officers—including members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He has vigorously denied reports of turmoil at the Defense Department, dismissing them as the handiwork of disgruntled former staffers.
Bondi and Patel aren’t the only officials cracking down on leaks. White House border czar Tom Homan and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem say they’ve identified and dismissed government insiders who alerted media outlets in advance to immigration raids in their cities.
Say what you will about the Trump administration’s efforts, but the fact is, the country was led by a faction of unelected left-wing deep state operatives under President Joe Autopen for four years and not one person who knew that Biden’s mind was gone from the beginning of his term did a damned thing about it, despite the damage done to the country and the institution of the presidency. So if nothing else, we can thank Trump and his nominees for giving us all some degree of justice by outing and removing at least some of those who were more than likely involved in the cover-up.
