DOGE chief Elon Musk and GOP activist Scott Presler are working overtime to motivate Republican voters to turn out for a Supreme Court election in the key battleground state of Wisconsin with the GOP majority in the U.S. House literally at stake.
America PAC, a political action committee founded by SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk to support President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, is spending $1 million to back conservative Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel’s canvassing and field operations.
Another Musk-backed group, Building America’s Future, purchased $1.5 million in commercials to support the conservative candidate.
His opponent is liberal judge Susan Crawford, and whoever takes the race will decide the balance of power in the important swing state’s highest court.
That matters because a Crawford victory means the court’s current 4-3 liberal majority will remain intact and justices will likely approve a gerrymandering of the state’s congressional districts that will cost Republicans at least two U.S. House seats, potentially flipping the chamber to Democrats in 2026.
The state is split between a Democrat governor and a Republican legislature, so the Supreme Court “is the center of the action,” University of Wisconsin-Madison political scientist Barry Burden told CNN last month. “It’s become a place where a lot of hot-button issues people care about get decided.”
Meanwhile, Presler — who has been credited with helping flip Pennsylvania red during the last election cycle by registering tens of thousands of new Republican voters — is warning that there could be a repeat of a blowout 2023 election in the state in which liberal-leaning Janet Protasiewicz beat conservative candidate Dan Kelly and flipped the balance of the court.
“I tried to warn people in 2023, and here is what I’m saying now: if Wisconsinites don’t pay attention to this race, history is going to repeat itself, and you’re going to have this court stay under Democrat control,” Presler told Breitbart News on Friday.
The election is April 1.

Presler, whose organization Early Vote Action focuses on registering Republicans and promoting early voting in key swing states, has been actively highlighting the significance of the upcoming race online. He announced plans to travel to Wisconsin for two weeks, dedicating his efforts to securing a victory in the Supreme Court election.
“There is no party affiliation on the court, but we all can read in between the lines,” Presler said, calling Crawford a “radical, rabid leftist.”
Presler emphasized that one of the biggest stakes in the race is the potential for Democrats to gerrymander legislative districts if Crawford wins, potentially flipping two U.S. House seats currently held by Republicans. The districts in question include Rep. Bryan Steil’s (R-WI) 1st Congressional District in southeastern Wisconsin and Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s (R-WI) 3rd Congressional District in the western part of the battleground state.
“It’s not just the Wisconsin Supreme Court,” Presler told Breitbart. “It’s potentially taking the House majority away from Republicans, therefore stalling President Trump and taking away his ability to govern and legislate.”
Musk has also recognized the significance of the race as well as Presler’s efforts. “This is important,” he noted in a tweet Feb. 27 regarding the contest and the GOP activist’s work to flip the court seat.
“I always believe that victory begets victory. I think we have a much more likelihood of winning these off-year Supreme Court elections, in part, because of our victory in 2024,” Presler told the outlet. “This is a base-turnout election. If we get Trump voters out, then Brad Schimel will be our next Supreme Court justice.”
