Carrie Underwood was slated to perform ā€œAmerica the Beautifulā€ with the United States Naval Academy Glee Club and the Armed Forces Chorus before Trump took the Oath of Office. However, her performance didnā€™t go as planned. She sang after the Oath of Office and without accompaniment.

Due to last-minute changes to the inauguration, Underwood was going to sing to a recorded backing track. However, the track failed. Instead of scrapping the performance, the country superstar proved to the world how well she works under pressure and delivered a stunning acapella rendition of the patriotic standard.

The memorable moment came after many fans believed that Carrie Underwoodā€™s performance was cut from the inauguration schedule. Last week, Underwood spoke toĀ PeopleĀ about her performance at the inauguration. ā€œI am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future,ā€ she told the publication. There is no way she could have known that she would bring a room full of people including former president Biden and former vice president Harris, together to sing the praises of the United States. In that moment, the ā€œBefore He Cheatsā€ singer proved that music can bring people from all walks of life together, even if only for a brief and fleeting moment.
