DONNY OSMOND SHARES EMOTIONAL ‘FINAL’ GOODBYE WITH FAMILY, POSTS HEARTWARMING PHOTO WITH GRANDKIDS ON INSTAGRAM

Donny Osmond, the beloved teen idol from the 1970s, now has five sons and 14 grandchildren, all of whom are excitedly waiting for his return from a three-month “Direct from Las Vegas” tour.

Before setting off, Osmond captivated his social media followers by showcasing the unexpected connection between a giant peacock and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Today, Donny Osmond remains as active in his career as he was fifty years ago. In 2019, at the age of 66, he concluded an 11-year residency in Las Vegas with his sister Marie. He returned to Harrah’s Hotel and Casino to headline his first solo residency, which is set to resume in the fall of 2024.

After stepping on the stage for the show, where he takes audiences on a “dynamic, energy-filled musical journey of his unparalleled life,” Osmond flies out to the UK for a limited run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The TV host wowed live theatre audiences with his performance as Joseph in the hit musical that ran from 1992 to 1998, and this time, he’s taking on the role of Pharaoh.

“I always knew I would return to ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,’” Osmond said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). “Having starred as Joseph in over 2,000 performances in this magical musical, I am now ready to channel my inner Elvis and assume the role of Pharaoh in Edinburgh starting this December [2024].”

But before any of that happens, he’s spending the summer, taking the “Direct from Las Vegas” show to venues across North America.

GIANT PEACOCK

With a packed schedule that keeps him from the large family he built with wife Debra (married in 1978), the musician carves out time to spend with his five sons and 14 grandchildren.

In a conversation with People, Osmond emphasized that no matter how hectic his schedule gets, family remains his top priority.

“Family is what balances my life. It’s the most important thing because eventually, the curtain will come down, and what will you have left?” he explained.

Giving fans a peek into his life just before his tour, Osmond, who famously appeared as a peacock in the first season of “The Masked Singer,” posted a photo on Instagram. The picture features him in the pool with his grandchildren, playfully accompanied by a giant inflatable peacock.

He captioned the post, “Enjoying one last swim at home with my grandkids before my long US summer tour kicks off this Friday in Milwaukee. Also, a big thanks to Sue Pearson from Leeds in the UK who gifted me this inflatable peacock during my tour there. We’ve had loads of fun with it. Speaking of fun, I can’t wait to see you all soon on my US summer tour.”

Osmond’s followers quickly filled the comments section, praising the devoted family man and expressing their excitement for his upcoming tour.

One user commented, “So this is your secret to staying young, Donny! Your happiness and precious family make you smile, and that’s why you’re always so joyful on stage.” Another, enchanted by the family photo, added: “What beautiful pictures of you and your grandbabies. Can’t wait to see you in Louisville.”

“Can’t wait for this summer tour. Rest up…is it 41 venues? Wow! Donny, what a historic US tour. So exciting! See you in Connecticut,” another fan exclaimed.

Other fans focused on the peacock, connecting it to his stint on “The Masked Singer.” “Love the peacock…you should have won!!!!” commented one.

If you’re still puzzled about what a peacock and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have in common, both are memorable costumes worn by this legendary singer!
